American taxpayers are justifiably outraged when on the one hand they are asked to stomach billions in federal assistance for companies and then have to watch as corporate executives at those same companies spend thousands of dollars on lavish junkets for themselves.  Recent reports have cited a $440,000 weekend getaway held by AIG executives after they received $85 billion in taxpayer dollars.  This is unacceptable.  South Carolina families deserve accountability.  They deserve to know that their tax dollars are not paying for this type of extravagance.

Congressman Thaddeus McCotter House Leader Five items to make the “Economic Bailout” work not increase the income TAX and straighten out Wall Street. 1. After a root cause analyses instill regulations to prosecute the people on Wall Street, people responsible for any unethical, criminal, or cohesive activities, etc. leading to the Economic problems we presently are in. 2. Require the Companies to have in there operating laws/procedures clear causes stating the powers of “Checks & Balances” so the shareholders may monitor and control the corporate pay treatment and gratuities/bonuses. 3. Require companies (banks, mortgage & lending co., insurance co., etc.) provide taxpayer equity similar to a coop, as well as paying the “Bailout loan” back in full. 4. Make the speculators, brokers, all investment institutes, etc. pay for the “Bailout” by imposing a transaction tax (0.10~0.5 of a percent) per security transaction. And keep this TAX in place until all bailout moneys are paid back, also the National Debt is covered and Social Security is solvent. 5. Impose a regulated freeze on fuel (gasoline and diesel) at $2.00 a gallon all tax included, until the Economy around for minimum of 5 years and the control the increases as the GNP goes up. These items would put the United States of America back as a prosperous country. And help it stay there.
